Aston Villa star John McGinn has praised the impact of Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford.

The United academy graduate made the cross-Premier League loan switch during the winter window, helping Unai Emery's side in their quest for European qualification and domestic success. Although the 27-year-old has yet to find the black of the net for the Villans, he has contributed three assists after striking up a bubbling partnership with former Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio.

Rashford's Old Trafford exit came after scrutiny during his time at United and in particular, under new head coach Ruben Amorim - making just four appearances under the Portuguese however, his last coming in the 3-2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on December, 7.

He was then left out of 12 matchday squads, two of which for illness, as well as an appearance as an unused substitute at the end of December. However, the early signs from Rashford have impressed the Scotland international.

"They come with a huge reputation," McGinn said via the Birmingham Mail. "They are hungry and want to succeed, they work hard and that’s all you want as a teammate.

"There are no big egos. We haven’t seen that yet if there is. They have both fitted in well, Marco had a couple of goals at the weekend."

Revealing his wish for Rashford to break his duck, McGinn added: "I’m hoping one of them falls to the feet of Rashford so he can get off the mark. Obviously they are two brilliant players and delighted they are here."

As part of the deal to bring Rashford to Villa Park, Villa are covering at least 75 per cent, which could rise to 90 per cent depending on performance-based bonus, and Emery's side have an option to buy him in the summer, for a fee thought be around £40m.
